"I am honored to be missioned by my religious community to come and be a part of the Houghton and Chassell communities. I grew up in the Flint, Michigan, area and I am the 10th of 11 children. I have been a professed religious since 1972. My years as a Catholic school teacher (grades 5-8), a vocation director, religious education and adult faith formation director, and most recently working in the diocesan religious education and youth ministry department of the Diocese of Green Bay have given me the opportunity to travel to several states and to teach in Hawaii. I enjoy playing cards, learning computer programs, reading, teaching the faith, giving retreats and spending time with family and friends. I am excited to serve the St. Albert the Great and St. Anne faith communities."

"My hometown is in Maple Grove, WI. I have 2 brothers and 3 sisters, I am the oldest in the family. In grade school we lived close to school. We had the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Chairity as teachers. Living close, the Sisters called on the Brandes girls often to help in setting up for special events in school and in church. I think it was this close contact with the sisters that inspired me to become a Franciscan Sister. I have been a professed sister for 45 years and during this time have served in many different places and in many different capacities. This year I am reaching out to the homebound of St. Anne’s and St. Al’s parishes and also those who are now in care facilities. A smile everyday and bringing Jesus to them goes a very long way. I am also enjoying being present to the students when ever possible."

"I entered the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity when I was 22 years old. I always believe that God calls through a simple desire to give ones self to Him and the service of His people in a very intense and total way. When I was in college that desire began to grow in me and only grew stronger. I knew I had to trust it was God pursuing me. I had the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity as some of my teachers in elementary school. I appreciated their simple and real faith. My ministry here in the Keweenaw will be at Sacred Heart School. I am delighted to be teaching First and Second Grade at such a lovely school. I am also excited to get to spend time with and to get to know the families and young adults of Saint Albert's and Saint Anne's Parish. "
